The perfect Scones

Hello everyone , today I'm sharing my scone recipe with you. I hope you like it. Enjoy!

Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 7,425f (220oc).
you will need a tray with a baking sheet placed on top.
225g of self raising flour. sift into a bowl.
Add 40g of butter or margarine,at Room temperature.
Rub the butter and flour together using your fingertips.
Next stir in 1 and a half tablespoons of caster sugar.
Then add a pinch of salt.
Using a knife add 150ml of milk with a knife.
Add a bit of milk at a time then stir and continue until all the milk is used.Add either raisins or cheese or any other choice of ingredients.
Flour your hands and surface area. If the mixture is a bit dry add a drop of milk.

Roll the dough out to about 2cm thick. Either using a cutter,of any size, or evenly splitting it up. Try and make them even so they all cook at the same rate.

Place the scones on to the grease proof baking sheet, dust each one with a little more flour and bake near the top of the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
If you are making Cheese scones about 2 minutes before they are about to come out add some extra grated cheese on the top. Then place back in the oven for the rest of the remaining time.

These are how the raisin ones turned out. They are huge.

These are them finished. They are so light and moreish.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. I'm going to be doing more cooking posts in the future.

Lots of love

Faye x
